Are you a Procurement Specialist with experience in the manufacturing or production sector?
We have a client who are seeking to appoint a role to support the Purchasing Manager in implementing and managing the Purchasing process to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget and meeting the required quality specification. Actively enhance and add value to the Purchasing process. Contribute to improved project margins, quicker speed to market and enhanced client experience.
* On time delivery of components and / or fixtures, within budget and meeting required quality standard. * Liaise with Estimating Department to understand the suggested buying plan, and then implement the buying plan in order to deliver best value and quality. * Liaise with Sales and Project Teams to ensure that demand is managed and planned. * Reporting of supply chain performance, including quantitative measurement of supplier delivery performance to feed into Sourcing Team. * Support the implementation of agreed Purchasing Strategy, incorporating the need for continuous improvement and global alignment. * Raise and expedite Purchase Orders. * Act as key point of contact with preferred Suppliers, ensuring a clear understanding of the requirements, and expectations. * Communicate clearly and precisely with the Project Team. * Maintain a current knowledge of pricing trends and periods of peak demand in order to limit their impact on the business. * Evaluate supplier pricing based on commercial and technical factors. * Ensure that suppliers are aware of business objectives. * Negotiate and agree contracts, and monitor the quality of service provided. * Contribute to improved margins, quicker speed to market and enhanced client experience. * Contribute to measurement of team KPIs considering: estimate vs actual cost, on-time-in-full and supplier performance measurements.
Successful candidates will have:
* Purchasing qualifications (CIPs) or related business degree. * Experience within a Purchasing or Operations environment. * Strong sourcing and negotiation skills. * Ability to read and understand technical drawings. * Experience dealing with off shore supply. * Excellent communication (written and verbal). * Must be a self-starter with ability to make decisions under pressure. * Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines. * Strong commercial awareness. * Computer literate to a high standard
