PROFILE ON CAROLYN DEAN - NAG CONTRACT MANAGER

Carolyn Dean

Carolyn joined New Appointments Group in October 1991 after returning to the UK from Boston, Massachusetts where she worked for Cambria Consulting, a major human resources and organisational development firm, for five years.

Her early career with New Appointments Group incorporated many aspects of the core business, giving Carolyn a unique breadth of knowledge, especially drawn from her time spent managing a network of NAG branch offices as Facilities Manager, a role she undertook for seven years.  She also undertook specialised recruitment roles, including contract and volume staffing projects for companies such as Eurotunnel, Hoverspeed and Sealink.

Carolyn's skills at managing people and understanding client requirements led to her becoming Manager of a substantial contract with the Pfizer Manufacturing and Research & Development facilities based at Sandwich, Kent. At the height of the contract New Appointments Group had in excess of 120 temporary workers on site and staffing encompassed many areas of Pfizer's business, from office based staff to manufacturing, laboratory and management.

Carolyn managed the annual Pfizer apprenticeship recruitment programme, undertaking in excess of 100 telephone and face to face interviews before presenting a shortlist of candidates to Pfizer.

All Pfizer recruitment necessitated competency based interviewing, psychometric testing and candidate profiling.  Carolyn performed on-site appraisals with both temporary workers and their line managers.

In late 2005 New Appointments Group restructured and Carolyn was appointed Process Control Manager, ensuring the compliance of the company's in-house systems with statutory regulations.

Currently, Carolyn is Contract Manager for all of our activities as a supplier to the NHS and public sector.  We work closely with many NHS Trusts within South East Kent and have gained considerable experience of supplying non-medical, non-clinical temporary and fixed term staff at all levels, from housekeeping services to senior management.   NAG works directly with NHS Trust Managers via the Staff Bank and NHS Professionals.

We have tracking systems in place that allow us to provide management control information to customers based on individual customer requirements - the information may be purely informative, developed as KPI, or provided for budgetary purposes, and may be collated on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis.

Carolyn believes that customer service is paramount within recruitment and always endeavours to excel in meeting her clients' and candidates' expectations.
